Deciding to start therapy can bring about hope and fear. I work to offer a compassionate, collaborative space to make sense of your experiences, understand recurring difficulties and work toward meaningful change. In my work, balancing the “theory” (understanding the underlying story to our emotional and relational experiences) and the “front line work” (using skills and tools to make change in the present) are fundamental. I work with people experiencing symptoms of depression & anxiety, occupational stress, with those who have experienced childhood trauma, life transitions and relationship difficulties.

My approach is relational and integrative (meaning that I may use techniques and tools from different modalities, rather than adhere to one type of psychotherapeutic modality only). I take time to understand you beyond your symptoms, including your history, relationships and what matters most to you in our first few sessions. The relationship we build in therapy is central to this process, offering a space to explore how you experience yourself and connect with others. Rather than working within a single therapeutic model, I integrate psychodynamic and attachment-based perspectives with tools from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), guided by your needs and goals. Our work combines practical ways to manage distress with deeper exploration of the emotional and interpersonal patterns underlying your concerns. I share my perspectives, invite yours and develop our understanding collaboratively. In couples therapy, I help people navigate conflict effectively, strengthen communication and deepen emotional connection, while making room for each person’s experience.

I hold a doctorate (Ed.D.) and a master’s degree (M.Ed.) in counselling psychology and psychotherapy from the University of Toronto and am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My clinical experience spans approximately 10 years of practice in inpatient and outpatient hospital programs and private practice, including extensive work with military members, first responders and individuals affected by trauma and occupational stress injuries. I have also facilitated group psychotherapy and supervised clinicians.
